Welcome to My Backyard Permaculture Project. This blog aims to document our journey of creating a food garden in an average backyard in a cool temperate climate in the West Gippsland bioregion of Victoria, Australia. We are dedicated to sharing our permaculture skills, for living a sustainable lifestyle and hopefully inspire others to make some small positive changes in their lives in order to lead abundant and resilient lives.

It will show how the infrastructure was developed, the growing of edible and beneficial plants through to harvesting and using them in the kitchen.

We are a couple; Terry and Tira and live in Warragul in Southern Australia – a lovely country town at the entrance to the LaTrobe Valley. We are involved in our local community garden, permaculture group, beekeeping group and woodworking club.

It starts with a journey back in time to where it started and moves to the present day. We hope that you will enjoy being part of our journey.
